SAN RAMON, Calif. - March 5, 2009 - Jim Sexton Gives $30,000
to Operation Helmet and Promotes the Organization on Z-Line Designs`
No.18 Toyota Camry
Jim Sexton, president and CEO of Z-Line Designs furniture
company, has given $30,000 to help provide U.S. troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan with safer and more durable helmets through the a
donation to the Montgomery, Tex., based nonprofit Operation Helmet.
Sexton and his wife Monica presented the generous contribution to
Operation Helmet founder Dr. Bob Meaders and entertainment superstar
Cher, a major supporter of the organization, on Saturday night at
the Coliseum at
Caesars Palace during NASCAR weekend in Las
Vegas.
Operation Helmet raises funds to provide helmet
upgrade kits designed to prevent traumatic head and brain injuries
and provide protection, comfort and stability. The
organization has distributed 40,000 helmet upgrade kits to U.S.
military personnel since 2004.
"The brave men and women of
our armed forces risk their lives for our freedom, and they deserve
the best for their selfless dedication," said Sexton, whose father
in-law, Hugh Wild, served in the armed forces. "Our troops overseas
put themselves in harms way each day, I`m honored to have the
opportunity to help Operation Helmet provide equipment that promotes
safety."
In addition to his charitable donation, Sexton
added Operation Helmet`s decal to the lower quarter panel and TV
panel of Z-Line Designs` No.18 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing,
which ran in the NASCAR Nationwide race on Saturday with Kyle Busch
driving.
